최근에 직장에서 마지막 승진을 했다. 입사한 지 꼭 26년 만이다. 그동안 주변에서 '마지막 승진'을 한 사람들의 이야기를 종종 들어 왔다. 그들은 더 이상 인사철마다 마음을 졸이지 않아도 돼서 안도감이 든다고 했다. 막상 내가 그 자리에 와 보니 그 말이 비로소 이해된다.
