[해석]

난 2주에 한 번씩 글쓰기 수업에 다니고 있다. 50년을 살아 온 인생인데, 삶에 활력을 다시 얻기 위해서 새로운 것에 도전하기로 마음먹었다.
지금까지 수업에서 배웠던 글쓰기 방법은 다음과 같다. 우선 글감 찾기이다. 관심을 기울이면 세상이 다 글감이라고 한다. 그 다음은 마구 쓰기이다. 떠오르는 생각들을 뭐든 마구 쓰는 것을 말한다. 여기서 중요한 팁은 중간에 쉬지 말고 끝까지 계속 써야 한다는 점이다. 마지막으로 고쳐 쓰기이다. 이 단계를 거치다 보면 생각들이 선명해진다.
첫술에 배부를 수는 없다는 것을 안다. 쑥스러움과 어색함을 잘 극복해서 글 쓰는 재미에 푹 빠져 지내고 싶다.

I go to a writing class every other week. I've lived for 50 years, and I decided to challenge myself with something new to bring a spark back into my life.
Here's what I've learned about writing so far. First, I find topics to write about. If you pay attention, the whole world is full of material. Next is free writing. This means just writing whatever comes to mind. An important tip is to keep writing all the way to the end, without taking a break. Finally, I make revisions. During this step, your thoughts become clearer.
I know you can't be good at something from day one. I just hope I can get past my embarrassment and awkwardness and really learn to enjoy writing.
