활동적인 일을 하는 남편의 작업복 바지가 자주 해져서 옷 수선집을 자주 가는 편이었습니다. 그러다가 직접 수선해 보자는 생각이 들어, 재봉틀의 세계에 입문하게 되었습니다. 저는 46세에 생애 처음으로 재봉틀 앞에 앉았습니다.

My husband does a very physical job, so his work pants wear out quickly. We used to go to the tailor all the time. Then I started thinking I should try fixing them myself. That's how I stepped into the world of sewing machines. At 46, I sat down in front of a sewing machine for the very first time in my life.
In my head, I wanted the stitches to go straight. But in reality, the thread kept zigzagging like a snake. Even making a small bag took many do-overs. My eyes got tired, and my shoulders ached. Still, the sense of accomplishment I felt when I finally finished made all that discomfort disappear.
