[해석]

현재 제가 일하고 있는 팀에서는 다양한 나라의 거래처와 영어로 화상 회의를 자주 합니다. 싱가포르, 대만, 인도 등 국적이 다양하다 보니 발음을 알아듣기가 쉽지 않습니다. 회의에 들어가기만 하면 말문이 막힙니다. 결국 "Pardon?(다시 말씀해 주시겠어요?)"만 계속 반복하게 됩니다.
이렇듯 힘들어하는 저의 모습에 한심함을 느꼈습니다. 업무가 원활하게 돌아가게 하려면 비즈니스 공용어인 영어를 잘해야 한다는 사실을 뼈저리게 깨달았습니다. 그래서 영어 공부를 진지하게 해 보기로 결심했습니다.
서점에서 <입트영>과 <귀트영> 교재를 발견하고 공부해 보기로 마음먹었습니다. 이제 저는 아침 일찍 일어나 학습하는 습관이 생겼습니다. 언젠가 화상 회의에서 자신감 있게 영어로 말할 수 있는 날을 꿈꾸며 하루하루 노력하고 있습니다.

In my current team at work, I often have video conferences in English with clients from different countries. They're from various places like Singapore, Taiwan, and India, so it can be hard to understand their accents. As soon as a meeting starts, I freeze up. I end up saying "Pardon?" over and over again.
Seeing myself struggle like that was frustrating. It really hit me that if I want things to run smoothly at work, I need to be comfortable with English, the global language of business. So, I decided to take studying it seriously.
I came across "입트영" and "귀트영" books at a bookstore and resolved to study. Now I've gotten into the habit of waking up early and studying in the morning. I'm trying hard each day, dreaming of the day when I can speak English confidently in video conferences.
